Festival Preview: 2012 Werk Out Music & Arts Festival

As summer finally gives way to autumn, Midwest music fans will be flocking to central Ohio to engage in The Werk Out Music & Arts Festival, the last festival of the season. This year the iconic Legend Valley (formerly known as Buckeye Lake) will be the site of the four day dance party hosted by The Werks, the Dayton-based quartet that has been logging a multitude of miles criss-crossing the country to bring their dancier take on the jamband to as many people as possible. The clear by-product of their seemingly endless travels is the depth of talented friends they can now call on to fill out their festival schedule.

With headliners like Lotus, Papadosio, EOTO, Greensky Bluegrass, Break Science and Rusted Root (and, of course three sets from the Werks) this year’s lineup has true national appeal, but the promoters (Alchemy House and Funky Bean as well as the host band) rounded out the lineup with a diverse collection of bands that are on the verge of attaining headline status in their own right. Indeed, the presence of bands such as Strange Arrangement, the Twin Cats, the MacPodz, Roster McCabe, ekoostik hookah and Funktion (as well as the promise of music until 6AM) will ensure that the party never stops. The promoters also promise a greater emphasis on the non-music entertainment with a plethora of visual artists, an interactive art project, and an art & games tent.

Soundfuse will be on-site to deliver our trademark coverage of the last festival of summer 2012.  For those who want to attend, tickets are still available (including a killer VIP package)!
