I’m a little bit late on noticing this one, but it’s never to late to share a set like this: STS9‘s Saturday night set at 2012 Electric Forest Festival. Apparently I wasn’t the only one who thought this was an exceptionally special set, because STS9 has made the rare move of making one of their live sets streamable in its entirety. A move that surely confirms that they felt this was an extraordinary set as well. It began with a couple of classics in “Evasive Manuevers” and “Inspire Strikes Back.” The midset combo of “When The Dust Settles > Arigato” might be the smoothest segue they’ve ever performed with these songs. The super oldie “T.W.E.L.V.E.” was a sign that this show was designed to be special. And the “Nine Inch Nails intro” segued into “Tooth” to begin a huge encore that ended with “Circus” was the icing on the cake. There’s no two ways about it: STS9 is seriously back and playing as good as ever, and this might be their best show of 2012. Absolutely brilliant.
